The public will be able to continue visiting the ship for one more week at St. Katharine’s Dock

October 4, 2024.- Due to its success with the public and while waiting for weather conditions to improve in order to return to Spain, the GALEÓN ANDALUCÍA extends its stay in London until October 13. It will remain moored at St. Katharine’s Dock, and the public will be able to board this formidable ship, explore its decks, and learn about its fascinating history.

The Galeón Andalucía is an impressive faithful historical replica of the Spanish galleons that sailed through the world during the 16th to the 18th century, which made an impressive entrance in London on September 23 as a true ambassador of Andalusia and its maritime history. An imposing ship of 55 meters in length, made of iroko and pine wood, and almost a thousand square meters of sail area in its seven sails, built with careful historical rigor.

During one week more the public will be able to get on board, tour its five decks and learn about its details and what life was like on board and the history of these ships. Part of the experience is boarding a ship that today sails the seas of the world with a young crew, who have amazing experiences on their long voyages. A true floating museum of our maritime culture that has already sailed more than 100,000 nautical miles across oceans and seas around the world, visiting ports on four continents, such as Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, New York or Quebec, spreading its history.

It stopover in London is the final part of its great 2024 tour, during which it has visited various ports in Europe – United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain-  to spread the knowledge about how these legendary Spanish ships that for three centuries connected the great continents of the planet. After London, the ship will begin its journey back to Spain concluding this tour.
